5 Ways to Style a Scrunchie

By now you’ve probably either jumped on the scrunchie train or have thought about it but just aren’t sure how to make the little things work for you besides using it to hold back your hair while you wash your face at night. Well you have come to the right place. As you may know I have just released a line of hair accessories through Frankie and Olive Co. that includes the Simple Scrunchies, Mini Pigtail Packs, and Hairs Scarves. Hair accessories can not only add that small bit of fun to your summer look but also prove to be extremely versatile. That being said… here are my top 5 ways to style Frankie and Olive Co. Hair Accessories.

  • The Twin Braids

Start by parting your hair down the center of your head from front to back to create two separate sections. Gather each section at the base of your neck on either side of your head (I find it easiest to tie off one side with an elastic so that it will stay separated while you are working with the other side). Start to make a medium-tight braid and once you reach the end secure it with an elastic. Pull the elastic down about an inch and use your fingers to pull the sections of the braid in opposite directions. This will give you a voluminous and wide look. Then place one of the scrunchies form the Frankie and Olive Co. Mini Pigtail Pack around the elastic. Repeat on the other side.

  • The Messy Ponytail

Gather your hair into a loose medium-height ponytail and secure with an elastic. Next, place your fingers at the crown of you head and pull forward a bit to loosen the roots of your hair and add a little volume. Don’t be afraid to pull out a few pieces of hair around your face to add some dimension to the look. Finally, take your Frankie and Olive Co. Simple Scrunchie and wrap it around the elastic to hide it. This look can also be enhanced with your favorite texturizing spray for added volume.

  • The Half Up Pony

Begin with your fingers placed about an inch above the ears and run them through your hair until they touch in the back. Now you’ve created a top and bottom section. Take the top section and secure it in a mid-height ponytail with an elastic. For volume do the fingertips trick from #1 and #2. Don’t forget to pull a few hairs around the face out for the messy look. Then take your Frankie and Olive Co. Hair Scarf and tie it around the elastic and let the tails hang down in the back. For a more feminine look tie the XL Hair Scarf in a bow around the elastic.

  • The Messy Bun

Gather your hair into a high ponytail and secure with an elastic. Wrap the hair around the base of the elastic until it forms a bun and secure with a second elastic. For added volume and distress do the fingertips trick discussed earlier and pull out some pieces around the face. Take your Frankie and Olive Co. Hair Scarf and tie it around the base of the bun for an elegant look, or use the Frankie and Olive Co. Simple Scrunchie and place it around the elastic for a more playful aspect.

  • Accessorize

Frankie and Olive Co. Simple Scrunchies can also be added to any outfit by being worn on the wrist. Say What?? Fashion accessory and backup for days when the wind is blowing your hair and it’s getting stuck in your mascara… it’s a win-win situation.
