July 2019 Favorites
I honestly can’t believe July is ending and I’m moving off in just a few days! Starting my business, getting ready to move off, and traveling all while baking in the Texas heat has made July pretty crazy for me. Despite the chaos, I’ve come up with a list of my favorite things from the month of July!
**I am starting a series of monthly favorites that will include my favorite book, accessory, Amazon find, clothing piece, and clothes from each month.
ATTENTION ALL LIST MAKERS!! I have found the perfect book for all of us organized, yet happy people out there. This is a journaling book that has really allowed me to write down and bring attention to what I should be focusing on… my happiness. It has 52 prompts for different lists to work on throughout the week. Each night I sit down and add a couple of things to my list for the week and it really has helped me focus more on the happy things in life. With lists from “List Everything You Are Passionate About” to “List the things (from your past and present) that feel like blockades in the way of happiness” this book of lists really gets me thinking about what is important.
Accessory: Speckled Mini Hairclip Set // Anthropologie
These colorful butterfly clips are perfect for a half-up look in a pinch. I always carry one in my purse with me and keep one by my bed for “hair tickling my nose” emergencies. These have saved my life multiple times when I needed to get my hair out of my face, and they can also add a pop of color to any occasion.
Amazon Find: Hydro Flask // Amazon
Before my Hydro Flask I maybe drank a single glass of water a day and this has seriously changed my habits. It is a vacuum insulated stainless steel water bottle that keep drinks cold for 24 hours. I have the 40 oz with a straw, and I carry it with me everywhere. I drink 2 full bottles a day and it has helped improve my skin and keep me hydrated in the heat of July.
This Gianni Bini wrap dress is a summer essential. The pleats on the bodice and bold pattern disguise any unwanted tummy details and make this dress flatter anyone. I am only 5’ 4” so when I picked this off of the rack I didn’t expect to love it (since wrap dresses tend to make me look broad) but the tropical pattern, color, and cut all work together to make this dress irresistible.
Beauty Product: Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer // Sephora
I am going to admit I used to be someone who didn’t believe in primer… until I met this one. If anyone asks me how I get my foundation to last so long without fading or sweating away I always credit this primer. It is a gel primer and is geared more towards pore-filling and long-wear rather than moisturization. I always moisturize first then apply this primer to make sure I cover all the bases. This primer keeps my makeup in place despite the Texas heat and humidity.
